ESP (English/Japanese) Vocabulary, Dictation, and Speaking Contest


1. Organizer:

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)

2. Event Information:

(1) Eligibility:
Current students from universities/colleges, senior high schools (including technical high schools), and junior high schools.
Each participant must have an advising teacher.
Current schoolteachers are also eligible to participate in the teacher division.

(2) University/College Division Categories:

  • ESP (English for Specific Purposes) Vocabulary
    (New: English Speaking Test added)

  • ESP Dictation Skills (English)

  • Japanese Vocabulary

  • English Grammar and Dictation

(3) Teacher Division Categories:

  • ESP Vocabulary
    (New: English Speaking Test added)

  • ESP Dictation Skills (English)

  • English Grammar and Dictation

(5) Application and Preliminary Round:
Starting from September 1, 2025, schools may submit applications directly to the competition committee.
Competition dates vary by region, based on local preliminary round deadlines.
There are five regional divisions.
Please refer to the official announcement for detailed registration and competition dates per region.

(6) Final Round:
Tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Further details will be announced separately or published online.


3. Teacher Training Workshops:

This year, three online professional development workshops will be held for teachers. One of the workshops will serve as judge training, including an assessment.

  • Duration: 2 hours per session (3 hours for judge training, including testing)

  • Format: Primarily conducted via Google Meet; in-person sessions may be added depending on demand.
